Hero3 Protective ND NEUTRAL DENSITY Slip On Lens - ACRYLIC
This is a specialty item. Ever see RC/helicopter blades as if they are standing still (see video below)? Wouldn't it be nice to blur them? All you have to do is cut out some of the light to the lens (ND filter) and you'll get nice realistic blurred propellers, tires, roads, etc. to give you a natural feel.
This is a nice and dark Neutral Density lens that cuts out 3 STOPS of light (1/8th of light gets through). Purpose of this ND lens is to cut out light in BRIGHT DAYLIGHT or BRIGHT OVERCAST so you can slow down the automatic Hero3 shutter and get nice blur with fast moving object instead of the usual stutter affect. Do not use if it's not bright out because it will increase the automatic gain and you will get grainy video/stills.
This is a simple slide-on acrylic lens for use when the Hero3 camera is out of the protective housing. Can be used with RC helicopter or quadcopter mounts, the Hero3 The Frame (new version of the Hero2 skeleton housing) or when hand-holding the camera without the housing.
Should something hit the lens, this protected acrylic lens will be the buffer. So you simply replace this acrylic slide-on lens instead of buying a new camera.

This ND filter may make your GoPro sensor show slightly warm in color. It is easily color corrected with an editing program. Best way is show something that is white at the beginning of the scene and in editing choose that as the 'white point' and it will correctly color correct your scene if needed.
