General questions
Q: Who is the BeStableCam gimbal designed for?
A: BeStableCam has developed a series gimbals for
film-making professionals,the SteadyGim product line of 3-axis
stabilization gimbals can be used to in a wide range cameras such as the
Sony 5N,Panasonic GH series,Canon 5D Mark II / Mark III,Black Magic
Production Cinema,Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera,Red Epic
camera,etc,giving a smoothly,stable handheld footage under most
conditions.SteadyGim gimbals are also available for aerial photography
with an attachable replacement kits.
Q: Is it difficult to balance the gimbal and camera?
A: No,it is almost tooless no tools needed to
balance camera,Changing the set up adjustments for different camera is
quick and simple.
Q: Are all SteadyGim gimbals ready to work?
A: Yes, all SteadyGim gimbals are pre-assembled and balanced at our factory. Sometimes a slightly adjustment is needed.
Q: What controller system does the SteadyGim gimbals use?
A: We use original AlexMos 32bit simple brushless gimbal controller.
Q: What is the noise level of the gimbal motors?
A: The SteadyGim gimbals use custom designed and
developed high-torque brushless motors to maximize both gripping power
and control accuracy, enabling it to support heavier cameras and high
wind conditions.
Q: What are the motors' noise level?
A: There is only a negligible sound emitted by these
highly efficient motors. SteadyGim gimbals use custom designed and
developed high-torque brushless motors to maximize both gripping power
and control accuracy, enabling it to support heavier cameras and high
 wind conditions.
Q: When do I need to rebalance the gimbal axes for differnt different cameras and lenses?
A: In general, when making lens changes with a 100g
difference you will only need to unlock the camera tray from frame and
realign the camera’s CoG (center of gravity) with the gimbal's CoG (the
projected intersection point where the roll-axis motor shaft and
tilt-axis motor shaft meet).
If you are making more major changes in cameras and lenses, we
will provide software and instructions for you to adjust PID settings
via your computer to balance your SteadyGim gimbal. When preparing
for a shoot using multiple cameras and lenses, it's best to determine
and jot down corresponding PID settings for different camera and lens
combinations so you don't have to rush these procedures on a shooting location.
Q: How can I power my gimbal?
A: 3S is recommended, but 4S will also work.
Q: Can I power it "ON" with no camera mounted.
A: You can, but it's not recommended. It won't level out, since it's too much out of balance without a camera mounted.
Q: Should I balance it, with the camera installed?
A: It is fairly well balanced leaving the factory,
but pay attention and make adjustments if needed. When you use different
camera lens,a slightly adjustment maybe needed. Also, whenever balancing
a gimbal, always remove the lens cap and insert the battery and memory
card to ensure an accurate balance.
